My first post is a packing list? I'm a procrastinator, so there's more to planning a long trip than simply putting a bunch of stuff in pack and taking off. For now, it's a start. Everything I decided to take with me was chosen by reading the blogs of travelers and common sense.
What to take and what to leave behind? At first I thought this was going to be easy, but as I started to gather my supplies I realized my pack was too heavy. So you start to pick away until you have what you need. My backpack breaks into two packs so that I can carry my valuables and electronics with me at all times and leave the bulk of my other things locked up. My main pack comes in at 20 lbs and the day pack(smaller pack) weighs about 12 lbs. I'm sure I'll be moving items back and forth depending on the situation. Here's the list and I'm checking it more than twice. A year of living with my Osprey Farpoint 55 Travel Backpack.

Hopefully I can pass the main pack as carry on and the day pack as a personal item. It'll save a bit of time claiming luggage and I wouldn't have to stress about loosing luggage.
If you're wondering why the items are linked, that's because I get a small cut from Amazon if someone buys any of the items. Well, that took 4 hours to write up, so LEAVE COMMENTS(even if they're bad ones)!
Good luck on ur Odyssey. Just be careful over there.
ReplyDeleteI'll be following you on here man. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to make a suggestion for something to take with you: http://www.survivalstraps.com/
Seems like the perfect thing for a trip like this.
My brother is trying to get me some paracord before I leave. He actually made a dog collar out of the stuff and it would be handy to have.
DeleteOnly 4 pair of boxers? I would have taken at least a dozen!
